Kuala Lumpur International Book Fest 2008

Assalamualaikum and good day to everyone. Alhamdulillah, praise be to Allah for His blessings on us. We are backed from KLIBF this morning. We arrived in KB at 4.30 am and later reached our home half an hour before Subuh (dawn prayer). On behalf of MariBaca, I'm happy to say that visiting KLIBF '08 really beneficial. Those who doesn't go really missed the happening event. I'd like to write a long report about the visit but, my bones are really hurting from the bus ride last night so, I prefer to list some of the photos we've taken during our visit.

We happens to meet Sifu of PTS, Pn Ainon Mohd. She's so friendly and bubbly and really a 'down-to-earth' person. Thank you Puan for giving us a chance to get to know you and all the wonderful books from PTS. Kudos to you and all PTS family for producing and publishing good quality books. Personally, I think books from PTS are the best so far. Most of the books in my shop are from PTS. We bought, read, recommend, promote and sell them to our local community. Picture: My sister Tini and the lovely and bubbly Kak Tun. I've been hoping to meet Kak Tun ever since we correspond through emails and telephone. She's sure is a very nice person just like her voice. My photo with Kak Tun was not as good as this one, so I would not upload it here.

Picture: And this is me with Ain Maisarah of 'Aku Mahu Saiz S', 'Aku Mahu Buli', 'Impiana', 'Impiana II' and a few more. Both her husband and her are 'comel' and cute. She's friendly, talkative and really nice. I wish I could asked her to make an appearance at my bookshop MariBaca or at Dar Nur al-Zahra'. I'm sure many kids will be coming to meet her. Maybe I could arrange it! Insya-Allah.

Picture: Ever read 'Salju Sakinah'? I sometimes read the series in Utusan. But now, we can read the BOOK. 'Salju Sakinah' is now published by PTS. And we are lucky to meet Bro Zaid Akhtar (the writer) himself at the KLIBF. He's a simple person and easy to talk too. We bought 2 books as a sample before ordering more. One was signed by him. Here, he's with my sister.

Picture: Me at Kualiti Books booth. We get to know Ms Lim and bought RM680 of children's books. Luckyly Ms Lim will be responsible for sending our box of books to KB. Alhamdulillah. If not, I coulnd't imagine how are we going to drag the heavy box around.

Picture: At the KL Books Distributors stall. I'm so interested in children's books here. However, most are imported and of course, expensive.

Notes:

After 2 nights and 2 days, we have to get home because our shop has been closed during this visit. Actually I could not find a substitude salesperson to take care of MariBaca. Briefly said, we glad we went to KLIBF '08. Insya-Allah we'll be there again next time.
